I. Ferguson arrived the first time. He was a soldier in the Confederate side in those days,
though he had deserted with another friend and they both arrived here.
He felt so at home, he decided to stay.
Before the war, he had studied law and as he belonged to a rich family in Virginia,
he soon managed to get appointed as judge.
